Now that took some courage right there. Nice to see someone stick up for democracy.

Health care bill passes House (video)
Sunday, November 8th, 2009Truly a historic moment. The health care system in this country is a pile of garbage. This plan may not do everything everyone wants, but it’s progress and forward motion in a positive direction. Let’s hope the senate can pass their version as well.

Black bear, Glacier National Park (video)
Friday, October 16th, 2009I shot this in HD as I was heading out of the park. Thought some of the readers might enjoy it(excuse the sloppy handholding as I was just trying to enjoy the day rather than busting out the tripod, mic pack and light pack).Winds were around 50 MPH and a light snow was falling:

WS Music Club: Rest in peace Jay Bennett
Monday, May 25th, 2009Just heard the sad news that former Wilco member Jay Bennett passed away. Those of you following modern music probably are familiar with the excellent albums “Being There”, “Summerteeth” and “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot”. He was a huge part of that band, even though they went separate ways after Yanke Hotel Foxtrot. Jay was only 45. Here are a couple tracks from that album.

Montana Department of Livestock hazes baby bison with broken leg (video)
Sunday, May 17th, 2009At some point, “enough is enough”. These are grown men wanting to play cowboy. It’s all they have, and they don’t care what gets in the way. These actions are brought to you by a paranoid and antiquated cattle industry, one which grips the west with clenched fists, snuffing out wildlife and freedom in the process. Of course, not every cattle rancher approves of this, but most do. When you buy beef products from Montana, Wyoming and Idaho, you support this bison hazing. The truth is becoming even more clear: When you buy beef *period*, you are likely supporting large scale predator “management”(aka killing).
Ultimately, when we leave this place, we are judged by how we treated our neighbors. Do you want to be known as the guy lending a hand of mercy, kindness and understanding or the guy with the cowboy hat on a horse hazing a bison calf with a broken leg?
If you get a chance, pick up the phone and call 1800-Visit-MT. Let them know you are considering visiting the state and are disturbed by this bison calf hazing video. Trust me when I say that in this economy, they are very concerned about public relations. It would probably do far more good than contacting the DOL, USFS or NPS, although all should be contacted (use links on the sidebar).
