Guns don’t kill people, stupid people kill people. This man should receive a serious punishment. Both of these slobs were “night hunting” with night vision equipment. Yeah, that’s not hunting. You know it and I know it. These goons should be locked up for a long time.
Georgia’s antiquated night time hunting laws are also to blame for this incident. You can also kills as many coyotes as you want in the state, anytime you want.
Weird deal. I know those night vision optics can really screw with a persons vision. Hopefully it really was and accident. I agree stupid people kill people, does that include populances that pay a tax to a government that kills millions of people in wars based on lies ? Are they stupid to ? I think so.
Maybe it does, Greg.
I used to hunt but not at night. The only people with loaded guns at night were out shining usually for deer–definitely illegal where I grew up. If caught, you got your guns confiscated, vehicle impounded, night in the klinker, a big fine and possible prison time–particularly if caught with alcohol which would be involved 99% of the time. As a general rule, when hunting, if you don’t have a good bead on something you don’t shoot it. Chasing a wounded deer isn’t any fun. Shooting an animal, if you can’t kill it with one shot, means you are either a lousy shot or didn’t have a good bead on it. It’s careless, however you look at it. My biggest pet peeve is killing wolves using motorized vehicles such as sleds or aircraft. It’s kind of like gunning down your quarry during a war–ruthless and criminal.
On full moon nights during the winter were favorite times to call in fox. No night vision optics, though (not sure if they’re even legal over here for hunting). Greg’s right, those night vision optics can really screw up your vision.
I have hunted at night for rabbits and coyotes and in forty years of all hunting aspects I have never in my life seen any human that looks like any other animal. In my opinion that hunter was blind or trigger happy.
Or the hunter did not like being spied on..
Too bad you folks don’t appreciate what God has made for us to value and enjoy, not blow away with an expensive gun and all the other equipment that goes with it.
Most of the time I was out hunting was to get away and enjoy nature. I got so I quit taking my gun and took my camera instead.
“Too bad you folks don’t appreciate what God has made for us to value and enjoy, not blow away with an expensive gun and all the other equipment that goes with it.”
Using a cheap gun is okay then?
The Bible says it’s okay to eat meat. Things changed after the flood. That’s good enough for me.
1 Timothy 4:1-5 says that the last days will have demons trying to deceive people, so don’t fall for it.
Particular attention on verses 3-5:
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
Every creature means EVERY creature. Nothing to be refused. Received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. Eat deer and elk and pig and cow and duck and sheep and whatever else you like. And enjoy..
The animals are all infinitely lower than man. And I mean infinitely. They’re not created in the image of God, and they are not people. They aren’t capable of what we are. Now, animal lovers are going to be angered by me saying this, but this is the truth. We are only truly free when we believe the Word of God, the Bible.
These groups that come and obsess over pork, or whatever other foods, that’s wrong. There is no food that is against the Lord.
As Jesus said:
Matthew 15:11 “Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.”
That’s the simplicity of believing the Bible. I don’t need some intense “explanation” that tries to explain away the obvious meaning of the passages. Like John 3:16. I believe in Jesus for salvation, then I’m saved. That simple.
That kind of simple understanding, as Jesus said to come as a little child, is where the truth is..
”tired of secular…. were do you live that allows hunting at night for rabbits? Just wondering what state that is? i know it’s an old post, but i have never heard anything like that wow.
