This is something that’s been hinted at for quite some time. The real problem appears to be climate change. We need to do whatever we can to limit our emissions of greenhouse gases. These beetles are here because of weaker winters.

I lived near Glacier Park the winter of 79-80. It dipped down to 44 below zero and never got above 26 below zero for two weeks. The buzz of the day was that if the weather would get to 50 below and stay there for two weeks it might kill the logepole pine beatle that still exists today. This crap that man is the disaster maker in every case of evolution, animal decline or existance is again rediculous. Climates change all the time. To think that man is responsible for all that is bad in ones simple mind, needs to be scrutinized just a little.
Thanks for the feedback. That is some cold weather!
I don’t think man is “evil” for the messes we create, instead I think it’s our species just trying to figure things out by trial and error as we go along.
Whether or not you believe climate change is caused by man, it’s is clear that climmte change is wreaking havoc with many natural orders. Two main issues would be the pine beetle and the Minnesota moose.
