The film “Avatar”

Written by Mike on January 18th, 2010

Finally got a chance to see this much-hyped film over the weekend and I thought it was outstanding. More importantly, I really enjoyd the message in the film. It’s basically very pro-nature, anti-development. There are rumblings that this film is really upsetting people who have no idea nature even exists(most Republicans). Apparently they do not care for the pro-environment, pro-community story of the film.

Make sure you see it in 3D. That is how the film is meant to be seen. It really does take you into another reality, a beautiful planet. You feel you are a part of the action.

James Cameron, the director of the film was recently quoted along the lines that he wanted to show people how beautiful earth was via a fantasy tale. Well ,he did a great job. Avatar does make you think about how we are trashing our own planet, and how we let greed suffocate good. The readers of this site will love the film. Go out and see it! Here’s a trailer:

It really is one of the greatest movies I’ve seen.

Looks interesting, I see from the preview who’s side I am on. Who’s side did you choose Mike.

The government’s side? Or the side of the land owners?

The government always invents problems, reactions and solutions when stealing from some tribe.. And some other tribes always go along with it for the “greater good of all.”

I know how the real Native Americans felt while this government was nation building, kinda funny how tearing it down feels the same way..

Their going to have to step it up a notch, the political football known as “wolves” has not removed us from the lands because the football needs more space.. Yet.

I know how the Avatar feel.

  2. Mike says:

So you feel the wolves are some sort of tool to displace humans?

Greg, I would check the populations of both species…..

  3. Greg Farber says:

I’m talking about the destruction of hunting, as and activity in the State Forests, and State Wilderness areas. Full closure of hunting will soon come about. As well Private land owners are targeted in these areas. The Forest Disservices agency trespasses on my land every year, I’ve kicked them off and they have me arrested and they lie about the altercation costing me thousands in legal fees. I am not the only land owner suffering this tyranny in Idaho. We know what is going on. The ESA is a perversion which is a part of this and which needs to be rewritten. There are thousands of homes spread all over Idaho, this entire state is rural, putting wolves on it was stupid. We live here, we see what is happening, you do not. You people frequent concrete and asphalt jungles and claim to know our lifestyles better than we do ourselves. ” And here you rural folks go, here is this wolfy we want you to live with.. Find a way to make it work guys so when we visit we can feel spiritually special.” Screw your private property beliefs.. We get it, when will you ?

  4. Mike says:

Greg – I don’t think the wolf really causes all the problems you think it does. Is it possible that the wolf for many in Idaho has become a symbol of their own general unhappiness?

What did FS do on your land that was so bothersome? I understand not wanting strangers on your property without permission, but how did you kick them off? Sorry about all the legal fees. Not fun.

I’m trying to understand what the big deal is quite honestly to “put myself in your shoes”. That’s the only way you can really grab the other point of view.

  5. Greg Farber says:

FS came onto the land with out permission. I told them to leave due to the fact they were trespassing on private property, they stayed and called the sheriff, who then ordered them off, they got the u.s attorney in Boise to file charges of assault against me.. $12,000 later they lost it, and the Federal Judge ordered them to stay off our lands. The judge knew they were inventing things, three big FS employees felt threatened by little ole me ordering them off my place.

” Is it possible that the wolf for many in Idaho has become a symbol of their own general unhappiness? ”

The above question only represents a preconceived and misguided notion not really warranting any response.

The wolf is welcome, the outside “influences” and mythological innuendo by over zealous over protectors of wolves are not. The damages to ungulate herds by over populated wolves is a reality, and until those distant non believers of that fact, recognize management is needed, their credibility will continue to be in question.

In other words stop treating the rural citizens as Idaho’s uneducated underclass jealous of a hand full of Phds with and obvious agenda.

Simplify it, 300 people own a car, how the hell can they ever agree or be happy about the condition of the car. They cannot, it is impossible. Fights will ensue. Lands are no different, and the public lands agenda and fights are creeping onto private properties.

It is not possible to rewild tame lands and still inhabit those lands, we must leave, and that is the eventual goal. Real research bares that truth out.

This entire chaotic debate is based on the Earth Summit Agenda, which is the entire Environmental Movement. It is anti Declaration of Independence, 100%. That Document is our private property rights.

It has nothing to do with the left verse right false paradigm. That is nothing more than Dualism. That system will never solve anything, I’ve watched it now for 41 years, nothing good has come of it.

The wolf will balance the elk is and illusion, I do not like the alternative either. For example why would I want a wolf pelt, or skull, for what purpose ? Some misguided pride ? And many hunters fell this way..

In fact having been to several I.D.F.G. meetings over the last two decades, we asked for several hunt unit closures, only to ignored. Now why would I want to close some units to hunting for a time ? The problem already existed, and then this additional predator is brought forth, and the problem has escalated..

It would seem logical to me that this warrants recognition. That is why I am so pissed off. I must walk away from something I was protecting, while being demonized as it’s destroyer. Many feel this way..

It is not uncommon for hunters to demand hunting units be closed for a time.. Elmer Kieth shouted this out in the 30s.. I.D.F.G. did create several controlled units which needed to be closely monitored as ungulates could not sustain and open season..

So you see a lot of problems are resulting from the additional top predator, the case can be made that this was done irresponsibly.

It is not the wolf causing it. I think their known as dumb white apes. Lol.

Mike, I think you should come out and do the winter camp thing with me. It’s real cool man. I may do the Alice Loop, or just walk via snow shoe into Hell Roaring lake near Finger of Fait and spend a couple days zoning out on the silence..

Check this preview out, I am one of those people who reads the subliminal messages tucked away in the movies and other things around us.. It is a bigger world out there than the average Joe realizes..
