Montana: Grizzly bear poaching reward increases to $11,000

Written by Mike on November 11th, 2009

This was the famous gigantic rocky mountain front grizzly which had the nick name “Maximus”. If you know anything about this incident, please call 1-800- TIP-MONT.

“Maximus” was the 2nd largest recorded bear in the lower 48. The largest ever recorded bear was in the same area a few years earlier! It’s possible that Maximus was related to the record holder, as he was gigantic for his age( seven and a half years).

The Rocky Mountain Front in Montana is very special country. Of that there is no doubt. There’s nothing else like it.
