Montana: Grizzly bear killed near Noxon(and another carcass found nearby)
This would likely be one of the few Cabinet Mountain Wilderness bears. You have to wonder if this ber was heading towards the Selway-Bitterroot complex or the Scotchman Peak roadless area.
The story also mentions another grizz carcass found about 18 miles north of Thompson Falls.
The bear’s carcass was recovered from the Clark Fork River in an area where Montana Rail Link reported a train struck a possible grizzly on Oct. 20. GPS information from the bear’s radio collar indicated that the bear was on or near the tracks when the last reading was taken before a mortality signal was received.

Montana: Hunter kills grizzly cub, wounds mother, species could be relisted under ESA
Hey Montana and Wyoming - It’s time for bear spray REQUIREMENTS for hunting the Glacier and Yellowstone ecosystems in the respective states.
This is a sad, sad story that could easily be prevented by arming yourself with bearspray.
We have another example of a firearm realy causing more damage than good. You get a dead cub and a wounded mother who is now a real danger to anyone else in the area. With bear spray, you increase your chances of not being injured and of warding off the bear.
A grizzly cub was killed and its mother wounded in a hunting incident north of Gardiner, Mont. this week, putting the species one step closer to a return to federal protection.
Surprised by the female grizzly Wednesday, the hunter fired his .300 Winchester Short Magnum rifle, possibly shooting through the female and killing her cub. The man was hunting in the Cinnabar Basin, northwest of Gardiner, with an outfitter who had left him at the edge of a clearing. When the bear wandered close, the hunter stood and yelled. The bear rushed toward the man in defense of her cub of the year.

Montana: Hunter shoots grizzly near Glacier National Park (video)
Yet another grizzly gunned down. This hunter also wounded the bear, creating an incredibly dangerous situation. He had time to yell, but no time to use the bearspray?
Oh that’s right, he didn’t have any.
Later a wildlife warden, Damschen and a companion returned to the area and found the wounded bear.
The warden killed it.

Obama ahead in Montana?
Raleigh, N.C. – The race for President in Montana looks like it could be a cliffhanger,
with Barack Obama holding the slightest of advantages, 48-47, over John McCain in the
state. Ron Paul is receiving 4% of the vote.
One thing working to Obama’s definite advantage is that he has banked a 61-35 lead with
those who have already voted. John McCain is up 53-40 with people who plan to vote on
election day.
