Tennessee: Father, eight year old son hurt in black bear attack
GATLINBURG, Tenn. (AP) — An 8-year-old Florida boy and his father were treated and released from a hospital after battling a black bear in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, officials said Tuesday.
Montana: Lightning triggers fires in NW part of state
The Rising Sun Fire on the east side of the park was successfully contained at about a tenth of an acre. The one-acre Meteka Fire is located between the Camas Road and the Inside North Fork Road is being managed for wildland fire use.
Arizona: Judge Dismisses Inyo County Lawsuit to Open roads
Inyo County officials had hoped to take control of three routes — little-used paths and canyon bottoms — using a repealed, 19th-century right-of-way law known as R.S. 2477.
