Bush reiterated his call for the U.S. Congress to overturn a long-standing moratorium on drilling for oil in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), home to wildlife like polar bears and migratory birds.
“We should have been exploring for oil in ANWR,” Bush said. “As a result we are dependent on foreign sources of oil.”

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - A coalition of conservation and animal protection groups on Monday sued the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to force it to extend federal protection to Canada lynx in New Mexico.
Montana: Forest Service clamps down on dog mayhem
The Forest Service statement said that unleashed dogs are a “health and safety problem that can be solved by dog owners leashing their pets throughout their visit.” The Forest Service just installed new signs at the bottom of Big Mountain indicating that the fines for dogs running amok range from $75 to $5,000.
