Coyote bites two people in Yellowstone, then shot
The young, scrawny female coyote stole a woman’s pack in front on the Old Faithful Snow Lodge on Dec. 23, Colin Campbell, a deputy superintendent at Yellowstone, said Monday. Her family got the pack back and threw snowballs at the coyote to try to scare it away.

Congress passes $39 million plan for national forest stream restoration
What a difference a congress makes.
Missoula, MT — Yesterday, Congress passed an appropriations bill which included $39.4 million for urgently needed watershed restoration on national forest lands. Once President Bush signs this bill, the money will go to areas where decaying U.S. Forest Service roads contribute to water quality problems, especially in areas that support threatened or endangered species, like bull trout, and provide clean drinking water for communities.
Montana: Bitterroot National Forest seeking comments on off road use
The agency is working on changes in policies for motorized recreation in the southwestern Montana forest.
