OHV safety and ethics

Before I could get my license to bow hunt I had to complete a hunter safety/ethics class. The time for an OHV safety/ethics class is now. It would save American’s millions of dollars and also educate (“educate not regulate” is often said by OHVers) riders.

Montana: 2007 wildfires cost $107 million to the state

Lawmakers were told Monday that the state’s bills for the 2007 fire season totaled $107 million. Most is being paid by the federal government, but the state is still on the hook for about $43 million after most of the bills have been tallied.

Much easier said than done, as I’m sure park biologists would quickly tell you.

It’s time for biologists and National Park Service managers to hatch a new plan. Perhaps additional gill net crews are needed so that the operation can do more than keep up with the lake trout population. Perhaps there’s a way to destroy lake trout eggs on the lake bottom without harming cutthroat spawning grounds.
