Another anti-public lands and anti-public participation ramble from your friends at “Conservationists With Common Sense” up in Ely.

Texas: In a state devoid of public land, Texas looks to sell the Christmas Mountains

Filed under: Outdoors — Mike @ 2:30 pm

The state agreed to prohibit construction, road building, utilities, grazing, farming or off-roading on the land. Further, the state agreed that it would sell the tract only if the state and federal parks agencies were not interested and only with permission of the donor.

Taser time on America’s public lands

Filed under: Outdoors — Mike @ 2:19 pm

In this author’s opinion, tasers are a form of torture and should be made illegal.

At about the same time University of Florida student Andrew Meyer was getting tasered by overly heated campus security guards during an appearance by Sen. John Kerry, TASER International Inc. announced that it had received an order from the United States Forest Service for 700 TASER (r) X26 electronic control devices and related accessories.
