Anti-conservation “American Land Rights Association” says Senator Craig arrest a “war on the west”

Filed under: Outdoors — Mike @ 12:08 pm

This group is way off the deep end and pretty much dislikes any and all acts of conservation. I’m not surprised they are standing behind Senator Craig. I’m sure they are giving Craig and his staff full support……

Cushman called for a boycott of the airport for at least the next year, and he noted his group has led successful boycotts in the past. Craig’s views are solidly in line with ALRA, which seeks to limit the government’s attempts to create public lands and considers itself a defender of “property rights.” Critics say ALRA is an anti-environmental group.

Fortunately, there are bright spots in the gloom. Arizonans are blessed with thousands of square miles of public land. It is imperative that we preserve what is left, as soon as possible.

After more than three years of study, the Government Accountability Office, an arm of Congress, harshly faulted the Bush administration for doing little to deal with the far-reaching effects of climate change rapidly taking place in national parks, forests, marine sanctuaries and other federal lands and waters — almost 30 percent of the United States.

Report: Most polar bears could be gone by 2050

Very sad news. Of course, there are still some very ignorant people who poke fun at and mock this serious issue (or even flatly deny it).

Only in the northern Canadian Arctic islands and the west coast of Greenland are any of the world’s 16,000 polar bears expected to survive through the end of the century, said the U.S. Geological Survey, which is the scientific arm of the Interior Department.
