Maryland: Fox attacks restaurant worker

The attack happened near closing time Thursday, when customers encountered a wild fox in the parking lot. Feeling threatened, they ran inside the slow-release door at Chef Fred’s Chesapeake Steakhouse, Bar & Grill. The fox followed them inside.

The Imperial Fire was discovered July 17. It is located approximately three-quarters of a mile northwest of Point Imperial. This fire has been approved for Wildland Fire Use. The Imperial Fire is one-quarter of an acre and spreading slowly through dead and down fuels created from the Outlet Fire of 2000.

Firefighters from Yellowstone and nearby Gallatin National Forest are working to contain the wildfire. They’re using helicopters to drop water on the fire.

There are 9,000 working gas and oil wells in the Allegheny National Forest, and up to 2,000 more could start pumping this year, but six wells that Pennsylvania General Energy Co. will drill in the Salmon Creek watershed are unique.
