The Park Service does have the ability to condemn the property though no action on that front has been taken. The parcel is wholly surrounded by proposed wilderness.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says the Park Service should either modify or abandon its plan for snowmobile use in Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks because of threats to the environment and human health.

The 2-year-old, 300-pound bruin arrived at the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks shelter in Helena last August and faced euthanization if center manger Patti Sowka couldn’t find a zoo with an opening for a grizzly.

Washington: Reminder: No fireworks in national forests

SEATTLE (AP) - With the Fourth of July holiday approaching, national forest officials are reminding visitors that using or possessing fireworks of any kind is illegal on all federal and state-managed public lands in Washington.
