Acting Bitterroot National Forest Supervisor Barry Paulson closed an area along Arasta Creek to all motorized vehicles this week because of damage to soil and vegetation from recent illegal motorized activity.

A Wyoming judge has grudgingly resuscitated the Clinton-era roadless rule, declaring he was bound by a California court’s decision.
In the ruling, issued Thursday, Judge Clarence A. Brimmer blasts a California federal magistrate, but said he could do nothing about that magistrate’s reinstating the Clinton rule.
