Mysterious waterfalls

Glacier is full of all kinds of wonders. This is another example (although technically it’s a bad image). These waterfalls simply emerge from sheer cliffs. Click on the image for a larger version.

The known sage grouse population in Jackson Hole got a little bit bigger Saturday with the discovery of a new breeding ground in the Spread Creek area of Grand Teton National Park.

On Wednesday, local authorities and Fish and Game officials set out to capture the bear, laying a series of traps and snares near the victim’s home in a rural subdivision outside Tetonia, about five miles west of the Wyoming border.

The Park also reminds visitors that dogs are not allowed on beaches. In other areas where they are allowed, they must be under control on a leash of no more than six (6) feet in length. Free roaming dogs can directly or inadvertently impact nesting areas and cause distress to a wide variety of wildlife.

Sanders said the new policy was handed down by the U.S. Forest Service. The intention, he said, is to ensure riders’ safety by leaving open only a manageable portion of roads in national forests.

More than 90 percent of Alabama’s national forests can be leased for oil, gas and mineral development, according to a provision the U.S. Forest Service has inserted into the state forest plan.

Wisconsin: The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest may raise camping fees

MILWAUKEE — The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest has proposed increasing camping fees at 50 of its 53 campgrounds, as well as increasing daily and annual vehicle-based fees for day use sites.
