Syd Barrett was the founder of Pink Floyd. He was a pioneer in live rock music, and is the father of alternative rock. His contributions to modern pop and rock music are numerous, and his influence and music will live on forever.  Thanks Syd.

COLUMBUS — A blaze driven by high winds forced the evacuation of two subdivisions west of Columbus and destroyed at least one home Monday.

Public information officer Karen Semple estimated the Saunders fire had burned 2,800 acres. The blaze is 10 miles west of Columbus south of the Yellowstone River.

Perri Walborn, a volunteer with the Columbus Fire Department, confirmed that at least one house had burned down. No other details about the house fire were available.
